Who We Are
Based in Narrabeen and married for over 35 years, Mark and Sue have always had a keen interest in gardening and growing their own vegetables. Sue loves all sorts of gardening, whereas Mark has been known on more than one occasion to ask “ If we can’t eat it, why grow it?”. Growing your own fruit and vegetables is so rewarding because the freshness and flavour is far superior to what you get commercially. You only harvest what you need, when you need it. A common call from Sue to the family has always been “Go pick the vegetables or salad you want with dinner.”
What We Do
About 7 years ago they added an apiary to their garden and have since become very passionate about their bees. Involved in 2 local bee clubs, they now mentor a number of new beekeepers and Mark spends most of September and October catching wild swarms as a community service and distributing them to new club members just starting out in beekeeping.
The bees provide them with an amazing amount of honey and wax which they process and have available for sale. They have won awards for the quality of both products.
Mark has since put his problem-solving brain to use developing the Horizontal and Florizontal® hives as an accessible, easy-to-use, and independant way for people with mobility and physical limitations to enjoy beekeeping.
